So I visited the Remington booth. They have a big portion of their new products area devoted to the RM380.
I was interested to see if they readily acknowledged the Rohrbaugh heritage, and they did. I asked if there were plans for a 9mm and the best I could get was "well the original Rohrbaugh was offered in 9mm."
Subjectively, I think the gun feels good. The slide racks nicely and the trigger feels a lot like a Rohrbaugh trigger. I think the black on black on black kind of washes out some of the nice lines of the design.
I am impressed that the materials seems nice quality -- a black oxide over stainless and a 7075 aluminum frame. They also include two magazines: one with a flush mag plate and one with a finger extension.
Most interesting is the price. I had missed it is this low -- $439 MSRP. That should mean you can buy these at $399 or so retail. Not a bad deal for all all-metal construction pocket gun if it runs well.
There is also a Crimson Trace Laserguard available now. I guess CT thinks Remington will sell a bunch of them.
I will try to get some pictures posted.
Oh, and no R-51 on display at the show.
