Im hoping to see soon after is the 9mm version... Must have one.

Eeeehhhh...

I am leery of them even making the 380 ACP version work.  Unless they just ran Carl & Erik's original machinery with no changes, I don't have any faith in Remington that they'll be able to modify the R9 and not have it fail.

The 380 will function with loser tolerances, as far as recoil impulse and things like that.  IMO Carl & Erick ran the 9mm design right up to the limit of how small and how light weight a 9mm semi-auto could be and still function, I think there is zero room for error in making changes.

We're into October now!

I think its too early to say for sure, but its beginning to look like they're botching this product rollout.

Better to be right and late than on time and wrong like the R-51. Timewise, this may not be the best climate in which to launch new firearms.

I see where a guy on the Seecamp Forum says he received an email where RM380's will start shipping 11-14-15.

Anyone else heard anything about them?

I have serial numbers 098, 099. 100 coming. I spoke with my personal Remington contact and they won't be manufactured before January 2016.

The weight on the RM9 was 13.5 ounces IIRC, but the weight on the RM380 is listed as 12.2 ounces.

Does anyone know why the RM380 is almost an ounce lighter?

Some of the parts are now MIM (mold injection metal) or plastics instead of solid billets of Stainless Steel or Aluminum which were CNC machined.

Breitbart article on the RM380

http://www.breitbart.com/sports/2015/11/02/remington-enters-pocket-pistol-market-rm380/

They reported that their pistol has been reliable with a variety of ammo through 150 rounds.  The problem I have with Remington is that their R51 test guns were reliable, but the ones they shipped to the public were not.

I really wish they hadn't put a slide stop on it.  My biggest gripe against the Kahr P380 - and the reason I don't own one is that my hand bumps up against the lever, and it is uncomfortable.  It just seems like a bad combo of the lever gouging my hand and a disaster waiting to happen for my hand to activate the slide stop accidentally.  The way the slide stop lever is on the RM380, I don't think I'd activate it accidentally.

I really want one but I'm going to wait until a few guys here buy them and give reviews and range reports  :)
