I'm with you on the relative pressures of the 9mm, .380, and .380+P, etc., but Rohrbaugh clearly intended both pistols to use standard pressure only ammo. Of course, anybody can use anything they like in their gun. I just don't think that I would experiment with +P in the R380.

I would agree on the 9mm.  The trouble with 380 +P is there are no specs on it, so Rohrbaugh does not even mention it in their specs that I can see.

They clearly state in the middle of the page in red that it uses "a standard .380 round." I infer from that statement that they mean standard pressure.

That could be what they meant or they probably just inserted R380 in the R9 wording. (that is my guess)

The R380 is a "large" 380 in my opinion and I would not hesitate to use it in my personal pistol.  The R380 was obviously just a modified R9 if you have had one apart and looked it and the recoil system over carefully like I have.

Whoever has a K380 can decide which ammo to use; it will not affect me because I don't have a Rohrbaugh .380.  Interestingly, the Keltec P3AT manual states that +P ammo will cycle but do not use continuously. The Taurus 738 manual does not cover it but someone asked the factory and they said it was not designed for +P ammo.

Below is a discussion on the Kahr .380, which, apparently, does allow +P ammo.

The P380 is actually built lighter than the R380.  The recoil spring seems lighter to me, but that is subjective.

When all else fails, read the book.  The manual specifically says not to use +P or +P+ ammunition in the R9.

Right below that it says to use 380 ACP or 9mm Kurz in the R380.  Nothing is said about +P but since there are no industry specs on it, I would not mention it either.

This is a question for any R380 owners. Is there an etched caution message on your magazines regarding the use of standard ammo only like there is on the R9 magazines?

All it says on the magazine is 380 Rohrbaugh.

Interesting. The next question is what does +P buy you in the R380 in terms of additional performance?
