Well I was able to take my new sig 239 in .40 and .357 to the range today.
VERY NICE shooting pistol.
I started with 50 rounds of .40 to just check it out and it shot like new.
Then I ran 85 rounds of .357 sig through it. Very hot round, but the recoil was very tamed by the heavier 239. The last time I ran it through my G27 and it did well and was very accurate, but it also had quite the recoil.
Well I left the range with the thoughts that my favorite G27 may be dethroned. I love the polymar frame for the 9 mm and 40 and even the 45 (G36), but the small frame was quite lively with the 357 sig.
I feel this is an excellent cartridge and that the heavier 239 may be my colder weather gun. I really like the pistol.
One other thing I really like is the mags are very slim so they ride well in the pocket. I don't like Glock mags in the pocket. I don't like a 1911 mag in the pocket. I have several belt mag pouches, but it's too much of a pain for me to deal with. If I'm carrying single stack I want a spare mag in the left front pocket. This one works well for that.
All in all I really like my new purchase. I have added yet another sig to the collection and I just love the quality of it.
I am thinking I will justify heavier CCW to fire a larger round, but my 9mm preference would be a polymar or micro gun since the recoil isn't hateful.
I would post pics but I'm afraid tracker will make fun of me 😁
