Hello all,
I just spoke with Eric today. Although this happened very suddenly, Rohrbaugh Firearms is leaving Deer Park, NY and moving the factory to Charlotte, North Carolina!
Any difficulty in reaching the company recently can be attributed to this move, which is already in progress. The Deer Park plant is already shut down and boxed up, and all the equipment is being moved next week. The phones are on voice mail, because everyone is quite busy with the move. The 800 number will remain the same, but the fax and local numbers will change soon to NC area numbers.
The time frame is not quite certain, but they hope to start "cutting metal" again by July or August, and shipping guns again soon thereafter. However, the business office should be back to normal in a few weeks.
The company sees this as a very positive move for them. New York doesn't want gun companies, but North Carolina does. The new facility will actually allow for more growth and increased production. I am told that there are lot of exciting things to come, and this move will help make a lot of new things possible.
The Rohrbaughs extend their apologies to anyone who has been inconvenienced by this process or had difficulty reaching them. They ask that you be just a bit patient and they will get back to you. Please know that they cannot accept any guns for warranty repair at the Deer Park address anymore. Their federal licenses are being "transferred" and are in limbo at this time.
At some point their website will be updated -- but they don't have an IT department and are not tech geeks in the least.
For those keeping track, the last frame made in Deer Park was serial number R6678.
I am looking forward to the next new chapter for Rohrbaugh Firearms!
