Boberg Arms XR45-S
« on: November 19, 2013, 12:15:57 AM »
...is now on pre order. Still can't find anything on their site about it. Would like to see the specs before plunking down $1200 big ones.

To my knowledge, I don't even think there is a firing prototype yet.

All you are doing is getting on the order queue to get in line to order.  When your name comes up, you decide then to jump or not.

Boberg was at the NRA meeting in Indy this weekend.

Here is a review of the pre-production model.  I found it very interesting.  Watch the lack of muzzle flip while they are shooting it.

Mine should be delivered in about 6-7 weeks.

Anyone have an educated guess?

You would have to call Boberg to be sure, but they were quoting 12 weeks when I ordered mine.

I will warn you, I put 50% down when I ordered mine.  I was glad to help Arne Boberg with this project.

Cool. What other gun is the same size MRC? Or how does it compare to the solo in size?

I suggest you go to the Boberg wesite.  It is quite a bit bigger than the Solo, but remember, it is a 45 ACP, 45 ACP +P, and a 45 Super.

Here is an overlay with a Kahr PM45

That was perfect, thanks for the layover comparison MRC.

Side note: the Kahr products are +p rated as well.

The Boberg looks to have the main advantage in being shorter. I wonder how they compare in width.

Thanks again for the info.

I really do not consider either of these pocket pistols.  The PM45 is a lot lighter because of the polymer frame and a .07" narrower across the slide.  The barrel on the Boberg is .5" longer.  Below are links to the specs.

Josh, remember that the first XR45 pistols out will be "Test Guns" in my opinion.  I am willing to help and take that chance as I like what Arne Boberg is doing.
