I bought some from this guy on GB.  If you buy another listing from him pops up.  They are not cheap, but available.

At $1.22 a round delivered, I think I would find something else.     Right now is a really bad time to be trying to buy ammo.   Homeland Security put in contracts with SIG and HK for 4.5 million dollars each in weapons and parts over a 5 years period which has slowed domestic availability of their products to civilians.   Homeland security also put out contract orders for 2.1 billon rounds of ammunition which has just about stopped domestic availability of 9mm, 40 cal and .556 rounds.      Even law enforcement agencies are having trouble obtaining ammo.   As much as I like the Gold Dot there is no way in the world I would pay that for it.   I don't pay that per round for M118LR ammo.   Good luck.

How many troops does Homeland Securty employ?  Do they wear black uniforms with lightening slashes through "S"'s?  I guess we really need this to protect us from those ultra-aggressive Canadians, eh?

It sounds like our central government has embraced Pogo's version of "Quimby's Law": "We have met the enemy and he is us."

Not to make an excuse for this kind of purchase but most people think of the Dept of Homeland Security as synonimous with TSA.   I think most of us know that isn't true and that all kiinds of agencys in the alphabet soup are involved like BATF, Secret Service, Border Patrol, etc.     That being said all one needs to do is go and google or otherwise search for Homeland Security Weapons Contracts and just Homeland Security Weapons to get some major surprises.    For one thing they have a contract out for 7000 selective fire  AR-15's  which are called "personal defense weapons" by them but when discussing new laws on gun control are in their semi auto form called  "assault rifles."     What alarms me most is that they are buying MRAP vehicles in extremely large numbers, that were developed for use in afghanistan by our troops.  Just who do they plan on using those against?    Why would you need an MRAP to deploy a Swat team in a hostage situation?   Especially in the kind numbers they are buying them.

However this doesn't have anything to do with this thread on Gold Dots other than to state why they aren't readily available.    ATAK the parent firm of Federal and CCI is one of the main contractors on the ammunition contract.   SIG and HK are the main suppliers of the handguns.  HK is also on contract for MP5's and of course Colt and probably FN and maybe Elcan in canada are the suppliers of the M4's(AR15).

Alliant Techsystems, symbol ATK, was spun off from Honeywell and moved its headquarters from Minneapolis to Arlington, VA in 2011 as a strategic move to solidify its position as a primary defense contractor. I don't know anyone who would confuse the Department of Homeland Security with the Transportation Security Administration. I was erroneously placed on their watch list several years ago because of a common name; this meant no online boarding passes and positive id confirmation at the ticket counter for a boarding pass. It took several letters and affidavits sent to the TSA to be removed from the list.

9/11 changed the world forever and all of this is related to the OP and the severe supply and demand imbalance of firearms and ammunition, gun control, etc..

I bought a few 50rd boxes of Gold Dots from ATG awhile back and they are all brass case instead of nickel case. I was a bit disappointed especially since it was a ripoff price (well not nearly as bad as the GB guy).

When did this start? I remember 9mm Gold Dots having nickel cases. I even still have ten rounds of .38spl 135gr. +p that is nickel..

I recently ordered  some  (50 X 10) at a good price.   Delivery 6 to 12 mo.    We will see?
Also have box of 20  and splotchy silvertips (subtle brown darkening on casing head) from last year before all this shortage.

How bad is this?  ( splotchyness )

Can not find any Gold dots 9mm period.       Other 20 rd 9mm carry ammo here has been more than $1.50/ $30++ per box.  Some maybe  most places do not have!  Or goes in 1 hour(Cabellas-1.5 hour away- paying extra but with points would be fine.)
If my Instructor Buddy would call from range/store I would say yes to 50 some $ for 50.

just tried    ammunitiontogo.com     --no--

http://www.gunbot.net/ammo/9mm/           20+ listings    (View in-stock only) checked
only 1 JHP  under $1.00   no gold dots

The cases do look good like decent quality brass, but I am not happy that they aren't higher quality nickel. This is supposed to be premium ammo. I only bought it for the R9, nothing else. It's pretty disappointing. I'm going to message Speer and see what they say.
