SHOT Show 2013
« on: January 08, 2013, 09:25:48 AM »
The SHOT Show starts January 15 -- although there is a media day shoot on January 14.

I will be covering new products of interest on my Facebook page -- https://www.facebook.com/#!/DuaneDaiker

I will probably provide limited coverage here because there won't be any Rohrbaugh specific news, but please feel free to follow me on FaceBook.

This should be an interesting year given all the developments and the current demand for guns and ammo.

Thanks!

Duane:

Have a good trip out there to Las Vegas, and thank you for providing the link to your forthcoming coverage of SHOT 2013.

I wish you better luck on airline connections than Joyce and I had on a recent trip to Reno for a legal conference. What should have been a simple return trip to Nashville with one change of planes in Denver turned, due alleged "equipment problems," into a rambling two-day excursion through the southern states with a night spent watching the cleaning crew at work in Atlanta International. Airline travel these days has become about as enjoyable as bus travel was 40 years ago.

Thanks, Richard.  I am flying non-stop on Southwest so at least my chances of disruption are minimized!

That is one of the good things about Southwest; they do a lot of point to point, avoiding the pitfalls of hubs to a large degree.

In 1995-96 I was commuting between Texas and Tennessee, flying on Southwest (Houston/Nashville). I loved that airline. The service was always dependable and the flight attendants had a sense of humor. I remember in particular one landing announcement made by a young lady when we reached Nashville. It went something like this:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Nashville. For those of you leaving us here, thank you for flying Southwest and have a wonderful day. For the rest of you, just sit back and relax for a few minutes. As soon as the pilot has purchased a new road map and we stock up on some fresh peanuts, we'll rewind the rubber bands and be back on our way."

The passengers laughed, some even applauding.
