Another Upgrade for a "Safe Queen" Colt Mustang
« on: October 26, 2012, 07:56:31 PM »
Thanks to "Yankee," who sold me the old ivory grips with medallians for this SM&A modified Colt Mustang that was my EDC about two decades ago:

. . . he has now found and sold me this elephant-hide holster for the "safe queen" in her well-earned retirement:

It's just a little pampering for a veteran that used to provide a lot of comfort to me.

As I recall, SM&A website had the distinguished voice over of Sean Connery, of PPK fame. Maybe there is a connection here.

Tracker:

You are correct, as usual.   8)  Sean Connery was indeed the "voice" of Scott McDougall & Associates. I believe there may also have been a bagpipe playing in the background when the SM&A website was opened.

Doug McDougall tragically died at the young age of 40, on October 16, 2004. MacGregor “Mac” Scott is now doing business as Mac Scott Enterprises, a licensed Class III (FFL/SOT) firearms dealer in Umpqua, Oregon.

Very nice find Richard!

Thank you, Reinz, but I deserve no credit.  John just placed it in front of me and I took it like a hungry trout hitting a well-cast Royal Coachman.  ;)

Richard,
Glad your pleased with it and it is a very nice holster. My only other option was to buy a Colt Mustang for the holster.  8)

The Royal Coachman looks like one of my former girl friends.

The Royal Coachman looks like one of my former girl friends.

I hadn't previously thought of the analogy, but with all of that superficial glitz and glitter hiding a barbed hook the thing now reminds me of someone as well -- my ex-wife.  I was just fortunate in being able to throw that particular hook.  (Yes, I was the Plaintiff.)  ::)

_____

It suddenly occurs to me that I may never again elect to tie another Royal Coachman to my leader, no matter what the trout appear to be hitting.  ;)
