Oops......VOIDED Warranty????
« on: August 28, 2012, 01:36:34 PM »
I'm not sure what the warranty for the Pup is
but I was wondering if I were to modify my
Trigger just a bit if it would VOID my Warranty?

You see the Trigger or rather both sides of the
Triggers edges cut into my soft delicate finger.
Us Brain Surgens bear a heavy burden.

I'm sure many of you must admit its not the most
pleasant Trigger you've ever pulled. So what do
y'all suggest a man with soft girly hands do and
don't say ruff up your hands Doc. Don't forget
I'm a Brain Surgen and a Musician! (not really)

Dremel or NO Dremel?

Bill:

Rather than grinding on the trigger, perhaps for practice you could use surgical tape (you "brain surgeons" should have a lot of that stuff lying around  ;)), a Band-Aid, or a thin shooting glove. If you ever had to use your R9 when TSHTF (God forbid), your adrenaline level would probably be so high that you wouldn't notice the trigger if it had the surface of a metal file.

Edited typo.

Thanks Richard, I do wear a shooters glove
when I operate at the Range with the Pup
though I generally prefer to practice I mean
operate the way I would on the street ie
no glove.

Its not a deal breaker because I'm not going
to put thousands of rounds through it the way
I have with others pistols that were a joy to
shoot.

I just didn't think it would/should be a big
deal to soften up the trigger, so to speak.
I was wondering if anyone else has done it
and was just looking for a little advice/guidance.

The damn Pup trigger is almost painful from
the first shot and gets worse. At least it is for
me. The price one pays or their art!

Well, I sorta' get nervous sticking sticky stuff
to a trigger, if you know what I mean.

Stop.......I'm laughing so hard it hurts.
If I were drinking milk it would be coming
out of my nose. BTW, a Finger Condom is
used to stop the spread of Glock Cutties
and not to soften the feel.

None of my R9's have hard edges on the trigger that I have noticed.  If yours are, then soften them up . BFD, you're not affecting the function of the pistol.  If you did have to send it in, I seriously doubt it would raise a brow, unless you butchered the trigger.

To me that would be saying Ghost Chili's gun is no longer under warranty because he cut a few shallow grooves in his mag catch.

A little fluff & buff on the triggers finger surface should have no effect on the warranty, fluff & buff on the upper end of the trigger probably would.  8)

Bill
I don't think it would void the warranty if you soften the edges with a Dremel.
You can always take it to a machine shop. They will make sure it would be even and smooth. Just a thought.
Good luck with your decision. Let us know how you make out!
