IMI MR DE .50 AE -- "Bling Boomer"

BLING ALERT, Brenden.   8)

_____________

Rising to "Yankee's" challenge to match his S&W 629 --

http://www.rohrbaughforum.com/index.php?topic=5788.msg69424#msg69424

I have upgraded the "bling" factor of grips on my IMI MR DE .50 AE. This thing is so "blinged out" now that it is difficult to photograph. Firing it is almost a religious experience, and a two-handed grip with top-of-the-line shooting gloves is highly recommended.

I still recall what some "gun-kounter kommando" said to me when I took delivery of it at my FFL's shop. "Why would you ever want to own one of those?," he asked.

"Because I can," I replied.

You just rose to the top of the bling ladder. Not only that this big dog would turn some heads at the National Championship Barbecue Cook-off.

Excellent reply, RS,  and fantastic bling!    8)

Thank you, gentlemen. I really like this big "Gonzo." When firing the DE50, it actually seems that I can sense the movement of its gas-operated rotating bolt. Also, in addition to shooting gloves, ear protection is not just recommended but pretty well required if you want to engage in any normal conversation for the next hour or so. At nearly 5 pounds loaded and holstered, however, it really makes one appreciate the little R9 in the pocket.

General George would approve---no pearl grips in that inventory.

Words that brought sales of pearl grips to a screaching halt and the demand of Ivories have been constant ever since.  ;D

The holstered "Beast":

The more I work with this DE50, the more I come to admire it. The "Beast," as I call it, will not  replace my favorite 1911, backed by my R9, as "go-to" guns when TSHTF, but I'm beginning to learn its capabilities. And they are awe inspiring -- so much so that it has earned a place in the hard case I use to transport handguns back and forth from home base and "Critter Creek," our mountain cabin in the Great Smoky Mountains.

It was a passing fancy, if I don't carry it and shoot it, I don't really need it.  8)
