Sometimes, even an old Second Amendment type likes to pause and contemplate some of the smaller things he is intent on protecting.

Mighty nice, RS!   Same thing here at High FAlls.  Haven't taken any pictures yet, though.

This week --

Impatiens in Hostas and Ferns:

Peony (the fifth year this perennial has defied the local wildlife and the elements):

The gun content of all this rests in the right front pocket of the "photographer/perimeter guard" and has the word "Farmingdale" engraved on the left side of the stainless-steel slide.   ;)

Very nice photos, maybe you chose the wrong profession. ;D

Gentlemen, thank you all.

Richard,
Very nice photos, maybe you chose the wrong profession. ;D

John:

Thank you, but I am just beginning to understand this little Nikon I am now using. And besides, rather than photography, there was more money to be had in representing multinational corporations in trouble, rich men running scared, and the occasional foreign country thinking it had been misunderstood.  I just wish I could publish some of the photographs I took during what I call my "walkabout" years.   8)

It's ba-a-a-ck! Almost two weeks earlier than last year.

Rhododendron at dawn:

This is a late bloomer, being located in a heavily wooded area of Critter Creek. It is unusual in that the same shrub produces both pink and white flowers.
