Holding a pair
« on: February 14, 2012, 11:45:38 AM »
A few days ago a police buddy asked me if he could try out the R9.  We headed out to the range on the spur of the moment and shot up my magazines of Gold Dots and a few more of cheap Winchester.  Everything worked great, accuracy was better that you should expect from a pocket gun, and my friend handed the R9 back to me saying he was going to buy one immediately as an off duty and back-up pistol.

His purchase got me to thinking about the old axiom that "one is none; two is one".  So I picked up a new R9 Stealth yesterday to go with my R9 stainless.  I have been carrying and  using my R9 daily since last year and find it just fits my needs perfectly.  A constant gun shop visitor, I am regularly looking at the new stuff but continue to think nothing is as good as my R9.  Haven't taken the new one out yet, but I am pleased to have it.

I presume that owning two of these now qualifies me for full membership in the club.  I suspect quite a few of you all are already there.

I also have two......if Rohrbaugh advertized like S&W(I know they can't) there would be thousands more of them in peoples pockets.... :D

Retops.  Congrats on the second R9.  As Ryan noted, addiction to multiple R9's can strike rather quickly; a third one or even more, may be in your future; why........................?  I haven't a clue!    :)  Except that it is a fantastic little jewel, so to speak!    :)

Congrats on the new one--- they are addictive!!  I have 3 R9s now and even had a 4th Rohrbaugh for a while--- an R380--- nice pistol but couldnt tell much difference in the recoil between it and the R9's so I sold it.
Keeping the 3 R9s though!

I had wondered if the 380 might be an option, but I'll probably stick with the 9. I've never even seen a 380 Rohrbaugh.

They don't seem to be on the front burner; it would be interesting to see some sales figures. That is probably a well guarded secret, also.

The R380 is a nice gun (looks and functions just like the R9) but i like the stronger 9mm round.  I think one of the reasons a .380 version is being made is the overseas market--- some countries prohibit private citizens from owning "military" calibers like 9mm but allow .380s.
