recommended articles?
« on: January 11, 2011, 03:10:08 PM »
hi,
I'm a new member, but have been reading this forum for a couple of months.  Is there a good article you guys would recommend to familiarize someone new to Rohrbaughs?

Also, I've tried the search function here to try to figure out why the early Rohrbaughs are considered more valuable - I don't know why still.   Is it just a matter of rarity or are these made with more love and attention, or what?

Hope to continue monitoring this forum and learning.

pelahale.  Welcome to the Forum.  The Forum here is the best I could recommend.  A lot of us here bought an R9 sight unseen and trusted what they read here.  Worked for me.

A few of us want an early, early R9 just due to rarity and really like the Blue Carbon Fiber grips that came on the early ones.  Love and attention go into every Rohrbaugh made.

Hope you get one.  You'll be proud.

Thanks for the welcome and the quick response/opinion.  I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on one of the newer r9s in stealth black.

Thanks for the link to that article - outstanding.
BTW - I pulled the trigger.  I paid more than I wanted, but 2 months of moping was getting long enough for me.

pelahale,
I didn't realize you were a neighbor, I'm about an hour and a half from you, I'm between Asheboro and Denton.

I'm a newbie also and here are a couple I have found if you haven't seen them yet.

P95Carry is a long time member of this board, and still hosts the R-9 FAQ, which is accessible by clicking the link in the rotating "News" banner at the top of the front page of the forum.

THanks all for all your postings and information - this forum has been a tremendous resource for pre-purchase research.   Thanks for those article links.  I definitely read those 4-9 FAQs by P95Carry.  I can't get enough articles about this gun.

yankee2500 - you must live in the part of NC where you can shoot guns at targets out your backyard - I wished I was so lucky.  I live in the triangle where I have to go to a range or driving about an hour to some family's land.

I'm moving fast - I've already ordered a holster from Kevin M I found here, and I've spoken with and ordered 4 springs & 2 more mags from Rohrbaugh.  Should I stock up on more springs before they go up on the price?

I do live where I can shoot in the back yard, I'm on ten acres of hardwoods a mile off the main road, and have a range set up on the property. ;D
Do you shoot at Personal Defense & Handgun on Tryon Rd ?
I wouldn't worry too much about the price of the springs, I would think even if they were to increase the price it wouldn't be much.

I've shot at PDHSC and the WakeCo Firearms center and only once as a guest at Durham Co Wildlife Club.  I don't know where's the best place to shoot?
