Ever buy a holster and then have to find a gun...
« on: November 07, 2010, 07:35:26 PM »
To fit it?

I bought two Meco pocket holsters, a front and back, a while back for a R9.  Ever since I have been looking for a Rorbaugh to put in them.  Just agreed to buy one from a member here.

I can't wait to get it.

  Good luck in your search.

I have done that, however, do it the most with ammo.  Buy the ammo, have it awhile, then get the gun.  I guess it's a commitment to myself to get the gun.    :D

I followed Bama over here from WT and knew that as soon as I found one I was going to be getting an R9.

I buy gear for prospective guns all the time.

I tried to do it a couple of weeks ago... A crossbreed in the classifieds. I didnt have a R9 yet. I was a little late but I did pick up a bare asset from High noon holsters the next day and a owb from the Rohrbaugh site.

I finally ordered the gun from buds and it arrived last week. Its used but has carbon fiber grips so I bought it. Unfortunately I have to wait for my firearms ID card which ive been told will take a few more weeks to take possession of.....just because of an address change. NJ ya gotta love it.

I ended up buying a crossbreed for a PPS on Evilbay a week ago. I then ordered the PPS Friday and it arrived to the gunstore today.  I cant wait to get my FID :(

I want to pick up my new toys.

Congrats on the pup, I had a PPS when they first came out but sold it after about a year.
Does the R9 have the black factory CF grips ?

Dean:

You are not alone around here in that regard. Some of us, myself included, ordered our R9 sight unseen after the prototype was unveiled at SHOT 2002 and then waited two years for release of production. Speaking for myself, I used the wait time to stock up on every accessory I could find. That R9, No. 132, is in my pocket now, wrapped in one of several holsters made for it by the late R. J. Hedley -- holsters that I am honored to own. R. J. was, I understand, one of Robert Meco's mentors, which means that your holsters are works of art.

I congratulate you on your taste in both pocket pistols and gunleather.

If you bought those holsters on looks alone, I understand, MECO's work is nothing less than perfection and truly art form.

MECO indeed learn from the late RJ Hedley and i too am honored to have both makers goods.

Below is my Hedley pocket holster and magazine pouch with my old R9 sitting in it.

Enjoy your new holsters and R9.

chameleon,
Fine looking rig, two classics together, an old Deer Park and a Hedley it doesn't get much better than that.

Thanks... I saw it at the Gunstore for a minute. I cant take it home yet, still waiting for my revised FID Card. They appear to be black CF grips. It felt solid for a small pistol. Nice workmanship. I like the size for sure. Made the PPS feel big.

I cant wait to get my hand on these... Unfortunately Its NJ so this paperwork could take weeks.

Ill keep ya posted.
