P7 - Love those pics!

and thanks for the info, I love HKs an P7s as well.

Always wanted a 45 PSP, but not willing to pay the asking price.

Have a 9 though, that will have to do.

I assume one of those PSPs is a 45?

No P7s of any model were chambered for 45 except the 7 original prototypes that never made production. (P7M7)

P7 - I wasn't referring to P7s, but to PSPs - the non - squeeze cockers with the funny hook on the trigger guard.

I thought those were PSP's.
Maybe I had the wrong terminology.

REINZ:

PSPs are "squeezers" as well and none are in 45 (as fas I know!..)

Maybe your thinking of the P9s maybe which have a goofy looking trigger guard. They were chambered in 45 and are quite rare and old as well. There are two of those in the first pic I posted in the upper left of the photo. One has the "can" on it.

The only other thing I can think of you might be thinking of could be the "USPs" which are "currnet production" and come in 45 cal.

Hope that helps...

Oh...and to all you other fine perps...thanks for your comments.

I have been "into" these things since thier commercial release back in the early 80s. First one I fondled, carressed, drooled on etc was at a gunshop just outside Bragg and the pricetag was killing me (Army pays so well ya know). So I thru the thing on layaway and picked it up when I retired... ;D

For such a narrow "line" of a pistol type....there is so much diversity in thier collectivity. Accuracy however is unparalled IMHO and you can't deny they are fast to the "tap".

I'm also quite fond of the P7 although I don't own one.  Have fired one, many years ago, that belonged to a friend who was a NJ State Trooper.

What would a new in the box, all papers and accessories, final run (one of 500) be valued at?  Have to get more education on the variations of this gun prior to purchasing one.

One that appeared to have seen some use sold a couple of weeks ago on Gunbroker for $1995:

Another one, appearing NIB, was offered with a BIN price of $3,000 last April but did not sell:

They're both good looking P7's and that last one is outstanding.

Just my humble opinion obviously, but those "last 500" are highly over rated. I definitely would not spend over 1500 clams for one of those.

To me, the best "starter" P7 is a Chantilly import M8 for a good investment as well as a reliable carry piece. You can just about bank on getting your investment back if upgrading or need to sell it. If one is patient, they can be had for as little as 1K for a good "shooter" grade. Best of the P7 series as far as fit, finish and steel used in them.

Strongly agree with P7Enigma regarding price point on "1 of 500" Is it a pretty gun, with those wood grips? Of course, but price performance, over time, on commemorative guns are awful.

Tom,

I would love to have a Chantilly M8 for all the reason's you stated but how about a PSP German Police trade for $300 less?  Is it a good deal?

Should I, or should I wait?

My apologies my bad...read your post wrong....

ACP: Just in case you were not aware, "the last" 500 run from HK in the last few years do not have the wood grips. Only the Jubilee came with factory installed Nill grips. 8)
