What price is fair for Early farmy?

Thought I should educate myself, I might have found an R16x  with Black CF,

What is a fair price if it in new condition?

It's usually whatever you're willing to pay.  That may not sound like a good answer, however, most folks who have these know they have a rare one on their hands.

Hard to say but in the range of $1100-1300 would seem about right to me. Corey is the current resident expert on market value but I would confirm those grips are original to the gun.

It all goes back to whether you are buying a shooter or a collector, plus stripping out the grip value of about $300. If you are buying a shooter you may be better off buying a new one for about the same price.

It depends

-Is it new in the box?
-Do you care that the grips are NOT orginal? (R16x would have came with Blue CF's)
-Does it come with the org. box and manuals?
-Does it come with any "extras" like mags, holsters, org. grips....?
-Just how bad do you want a early Farmingdale gun?

It also can depend on if its for sale online or not.  If online lots of people will see it and more than likley up the price if sold auction style.

All that being said I would value it anywhere between $1000 and $1500 depending on all the above.  GOOD LUCK!

ps.  I have a R16x R9 and it was reconditioned at some point in its life (I think a group of them, that were bought by a group of women, were returned and reconditioned.  Anyway it now has a Deer Park slide and not the orginal Farmingdale slide so you might want to check it out and make sure it still has its orginal Farmingdale slide.

If you decide to pass on it let the guys here know where its at for sale and I bet somone would pick it up.

I got excited and made mistakes....
Funny thing, the pics don't show the other side of the slide that would say farmingdale

R19x is cool, I have one of those too!  
Glad it still has the blues, I LOVE THE BLUES!  I'n my opinion its now worth the upper end of my earlier price values with the blues.  If you can get it at a FAIR price you just can't go wrong.

Nice find scubadds!!!  If it has a Farmingdale slide and blue CF grips it is truly a grail.

Well, I didn't get it though   (Hope someone here did!!)

But, My new plan is to find the cheapest Rohrbaugh (that's an oxymoron) I can find.

Then shoot the piss out of it, maybe do some checkering or any custom work. Just to see how it performs, I would be curious what happens if you shoot it alot, with good lubrication. I don't gather that's what its designed to do and I may be speaking out of ignorance, but I would love to see what the limits are......

Whoever got it-sounds like there were a few "takers"will either stick it away knowing what they got,or we may see it on GB in the future..
