Robar
« on: July 06, 2010, 09:20:34 AM »
Hello, couple of questions.

Had a Robar for about a little over a week (Now I am officially a stocking Dealer!), but the weather has been terrible (Sugar Land, Tx area) and no chance to get to the range yet to test it.

A couple of observations:
Nice CCW period !
Not too sure about the effectiveness of the sights.
Waiting to see about shooting comfort and accuracy.

Has anyone tried dotting the sights for a better visual or is it not needed?

Any reccomendations on a good front pocket holster. Bought a Nemesis N38, but not too impressed. Also maybe an IWB or OWB too just to have different options?

Shawn.  Welcome to the Forum and congrats on the Robar.  Don't have the dotted sights, but several Forum members, here, do and will be chiming in.  Again, welcome.

Here's two recommended holster makers;

Shawn,
   Welcome to the group.
Here is another holster maker who deo's great work and has good prices, he makes Pocket and IWB holsters for the R9s.

Shawn,

First thing I did was paint my sights when I got the pistol.  Now it doesn't matter.  After holding it enough it naturally points really well.

I have dots milled in with epoxy paint.  It helps for target shooting but I dont think it would make any difference if I ever had to use the gun in self defence.  It points SO naturally for me.  The one I carry is dotted.

I agree with the need to point and shoot with the feel of the gun on a CCW. The sight improvement would be for range practice.

Great info ! Keep it coming.
