What a dream come true.  You're an ammunition manufacturer selling ammo for more than ever in your entire history, and people are calling to see when a certain load is going to be available.  Selling everything you can produce, for top dollar!

Life is good.    :D

Dan.  You probably missed the update on the last post as the .380's start production next week.

I remember when $40 for a box of 20 was crazy no matter which caliber and load.  When Obama was nominated I said to myself, "myself, he's gonna get in, and when he does ammo and gun prices are going to skyrocket".

I was standing in the ammo aisle at Pro Bass Shop.  Everything was in-stock.  Every load, every caliber, no open spots on the shelves.  I bought $2,000 worth of ammo that day.  I thought I just might be a little loony but I had a feeling.

Unfortunately he did indeed get elected and ammo prices did indeed skyrocket.  I bought more - but looking back, that first big buy was a real deal.

Now we're happy to find anything, and the prices are between 50 cents and a buck a pop - and we still buy.

I hope this ammo investment turns out to be the new "gold".

Knock on wood,my WallyWorld has it's shelves full of ammo(all except .380s)and it is more expensive, but isn't everything else!!
I always have tried to buy "bulk" when possible, but I would buy a box or 2,leave some for the next guy if I could, and I have "plenty"

Now,who knows what will happen after the 2010 election cycle,I think there will be an all out attack on our gun rights that could be jammed down our throats like the "health" bill was.. >:(

All bets are off then..

I just came from our Walmart and still no Silvertips of any kind.  A bunch of other stuff, lots of rifle ammo, good supply of WWB 9mm, & 22LR plentiful.

I have three Walleyworlds near me that I check for ammo, and have never seen STs at any of them. They have WWB, Federal and Remington.

But I got notice from Cabela's that my 380 STs have shipped. :D

I just checked order status at Cabela's on the .380 Silvertips and says "in stock, order in progress", so sounds like good news as well.

Check your order status and see if it says "order in progress".  I haven't received a shipping notice, either, however, should be soon, as it does say "in stock".

I got the last that Sportsmans Outdoor had of the .32 Silvertips, and haven't seen any since, anywhere.

This morning I ordered both Silver Tips and Gold Dots from Cabela's. Not cheap, but in stock.

I suppose the reason I ordered these rounds is that they both seem to be favorites of the Forum membership. To me, it begs the question, "Why?". Why these particular rounds, when, especially where the Silver Tips are concerned, some members have had problems with misfires and/or jams with them. The Gold Dots don't seem to have caused these issues, but why the favoritism, in the first place?

I have always carried Federal HydraShocks in my Glock. Has anyone got any experience with them in the R9(s)?

Thanks for the information. I'm always looking to learn.

The Silvertips for me, just happened.  I asked what to shoot in the R9 when I joined the Forum and was told Silvertips and Gold Dots.  So the first one I tried was the Silvertips.  Had no problems at all, so had also learned that R9's were finicky about their diet.

I decided I didn't want any FTF's or FTE and with the Silvertips performing, I decided to only use those.  I stocked up on Silvertips before they became scarce and have been a happy camper ever since.

Now, this is not a good reason for a lot of people, and that's OK.  It works for me, and I've had no grief.  Never had a failure of any kind.

Thanks a lot, kj. That's a good enough reason to "stay with what you know"! I also read in another thread that the factory evidently recommends the diet for the pup. Could that be the reason, or a reason, for the high popularity of the Silver Tips and Gold Dots? I know some of you are close to the Rohrbaughs and the factory.
