CCW Round in Chamber?  Y/N survey
« on: April 26, 2010, 08:15:31 PM »
Looking over the manual and it recommends not to carry with round in the chamber. Just wondering if you guys do or don't, I can't see carrying a self defense pistol without a round chambered!  Assuming you have a proper holster of course.........

Yey or nay will due

This should be an interesting topic..  ::)

Always a round in the chamber. You might as well carry a rock if you don't IMO... Things happen very fast in a self defense situation.

Yay
You only draw when you plan to use, and in the heat of that moment, you don't want to have to chamber a round

+1 here - I have a few autoloaders spread around, under the bed, under the seat of the truck, spare room, etc.. ALL have one in the hole so I don't have to try and remember what pistols are loaded.

I have a friend that CCW's a Glock always and carrys unloaded with a full mag (cond 2?) any way, he looked at me like I was nuts for carrying cond 1. I just looked at him like he was the nut.
