One of a Kind Kevlar Grip
« on: August 24, 2009, 08:04:39 PM »
The builder has made this One of a Kind Kevlar R9 Grip.
Due to the difficulty in working with Kevlar, he will not be making any more.
If you are interested in owning this unique set, please let me know.

Would there be any strength advantage to a Kevlar grip of say there a catastrophic failure in the handgun?

I have seen a few polymer framed handguns like HK that have had the polymer grip blown out sideways due to some type aof failure that I can't remember know.  Photos were seen on hkpro.com.

That's a very good question.
I don't have an answer but I'll see if I can find out.

They would have to be better than the wooden grip I blew off
a BHP with a hot load in my CCW class. Fortunately, after much
screaming from the instructor I had my Gold Cup in the car and
finished the course at the back of the line. No more reloads.

Good Lord, Tracker! Now that would get one's attention in a hurry!

The color is similar, but the one above is an entirely different weave than the one being sold on E-Bay.
And one that the maker will assured me he will not make again.
