Welcome, Martin.

I always clean and lube a new firearm so I can inspect it for obvious flaws before I make it go bang.

I have long hands and have put skateboard tape strips on the front and back straps to assist in grip.  Made all the diff.  I use CF grips that are just tactile enough.

Speer has been flawless.

If this were my first pistol, it would have freaked me out.  But with experience, it is absolutely perfect for its intended purpose.  My wrists are not strong and I have to be sure to make them rigid, and all is well.

I carry the R9 in a pocket every minute I am wearing pants, and have 100% confidence in it.  I use the DeSantis as it is real light and sticky on the outside.

Best of luck.
