PTI, but I just picked up the Carbon Fiber gun that started this string and I love it. It is S/N R8XX.

"What was I Thinking?" is a question easily remedied as I contemplate my Farmingdale gun I sold about 22 months ago. What I did not realize is that I would have a resurgence of Rohrbaugh enthusiasm, nor that carbon fiber would be phased out.

Yeah, this string got off message for a while but it still has some good stuff in it. I wonder where all those participants went, now that I received the gun?

Although I've moved up to Critter Creek in the mountains for a long weekend, I for one am still following the thread. Congratulations again on winning the auction for that early-issue model with CF grips, especially since the deal was apparently completed to your satisfaction. I have purchased only one firearm (a Heckler & Koch P7) through Gunbroker, but I was well pleased with the result.

Thank you Richard. Quatro would be so proud of me if he knew I had reacquired a CF R9S.

The guy I bought it from was a little slow as he does not have an FFL but the gun is pristine, unfired and I am so happy with it that I am determined not to buy another gun!

Exactly. I looked at my post and laughed before I posted but you are right. However, what is a more reasonable statement is that the CF R9 I just bought is my favorite gun and it will do its job if it keeps me away from the gun auctions for now.

There are several guns that I am always looking for and never say never again.

I've taken that vow a number of times myself -- and all it took was one look at that Noveske hybrid which JB assembled and I find myself "falling off the wagon" again.

I think I need a 12-step program of some kind.     ;)

Never heard of a Noveske before. It looks street illegal to me which means I want one.

My 100 meter perimeter gun is the P90 with the FiveSeven cartridge. Tell me the Noveske is available in 6.5 Grendel and I will be in love.

Where do you get a Noveske?

ACP:

Subject to being corrected, I think the 6.5 Grendel may still be proprietary to Alexander Arms. However, assuming completion of all the required paperwork and such, it might be possible to mate a Complete 6.5 Grendel® Entry Upper Receiver Assembly to a Noveske lower.

The Noveskes are not easy to come by, but the process could begin here:

Is Richard not the Answer Man or what?

I have never fired a single round of the 6.5 Grendel. My interest in the cartridge commenced with a discussion with an FFL that I had several years ago. I respected him and the positive things he had to say about the round. Since then I have read positive things about the cartridge in various firearms media

I would have to say that the difficulty of finding the ammo and the gun have driven me to want one all the more. However, I cannot pursue this now as I am still grooving on that jeweled CF R9 I got yesterday.

M16 platform guns are very hot right now and people are content with 5.56MM. Does this mean "never" for me with the 6.5 Grendel? Of course not. I have always been fascinated by hard to find guns and have always looked for guns that other people don't have
