Corey, congrats on the find. The one I just got has the black CF grips and is ser# R 801 with the old Deerpark, NY engraveing, and is the R9 no sights. The CF grips are going on my R9s and the G-10s will replace them. I am selling the R9 to my son-inlaw. So the search for a Farmingdale goes on.

I stand by my belief that Farmingdale, one tone, cf grip R9s is Holy Grail but I have spent thousands in the past two months on guns and I am taking a breather.

I still think Corey's hard chrome, faux ivory R9s, with aftermarket embellishments, is the nicest Rohrbaugh out there.

For myself, I have purchased the following in two months:

1. M39 Full House Devel (#267 of 310 made) with original box, Devel sight adjustment tool, orginal Devel catalog and copy of  a letter, circa 1991, from Devel founder, Charley Kersey, to the gunwriter Charle Petty; (previous owner)
2. R9 Stealth
3. R9S on gunbroker

If I were to find a Farmingdale, one tone, cf grip gun at a gunshow, in my native state such that I would not have to go through all the hassle of interstate transfer, would I buy it? Of corse, but right now I am taking a break.

Sounds like you need a break, and like you made some very nice purchases. So now there is one less Rohrbaugh hunter out there for a while. ;D

Congrats on winning your auction ACP!

The above post with the "old deer park" engraving...how do you know what's old and new?  I just bought a used R9S a few weeks ago with CF grips (monotone) and would like to know if it is the old or new...

Fireball:

My perception is that the most coveted gun is monotone, cf grip, Farmingdale. You appear to have the next best thing which is monotone, cf grip, Deer Park.

I do not know the serial number at which factory converted from monotone to two tone nor do I know when Farmingdale was abandoned for Deer Park. I defer to others in the forum.

The "new monotone" is the Stealth which I like a great deal, with the exception of the G10 grips.

The old "Deerpark, NY" is the same style as the "Rohrbaugh" engraving on th other side of the slide, the new says
Deerpark, NY
Made in USA

In two lines as pictured

I actually prefer the simplicity of the understated Deer Park, on my Stealth, over the scrolled Deer Park on earlier guns.

I sorta like the scroll print like this dark gray frame (R631) one I scored on a week or so ago from a forum brother.

Thanks for the clarification!

And now that I'm at home and actually looking at my little beastie, it not's montone....but does have the scroll lettering(I like it) R637.  So I must have the next best thing to the next best thing ::)  Hey, they're all good.  I like the ones I've seen in pictures with the rose tint/colored frame

I bought it sight unseen, I had been looking for awhile for one for less than a grand(I'm on a tight budget right now).  The gent who had it just said it's a R9S and has CF grips on the phone and he'd take $750 shipped(I got lucky).  I was stoked, he couldn't remember if it had blue grips....I was hoping, but alas, they're black :'(.  It's a shooter anyway, runs good with everything I've tried and in like new condition.  I had bought an LCP right before that was being shipped, I haven't even shot the Ruger yet and may not as I don't see myself carrying the LCP instead of the Pocket Beastie. ;D
