Wowed at the range.
« on: April 25, 2009, 11:35:40 PM »
My girlfriend and I were both so impressed with the trigger, accuracy and low recoil after shooting R9s Stealth for the first time, I bought her one the next day.
We were both very impressed. The hype is well deserved.

Note: We both have many hours on our J-Frames, PM-9, PPS,
P3AT, Sigs, etc.

Wow.  Lucky girlfriend.  I haven't had my wife shoot mine yet, maybe she'll want one too.  I'm impressed with mine too.  I have no problem with the recoil.  I think I could shoot 100 rounds straight with it, unlike my airlight J-frames.

Welcome to the forum, coalman, and thank you for the report.

In the spirit of compromise, my ex-wife kept everything so take good care of that girlfriend. She is your equal, particularly in view of the fact that she now owns a very good gun.

Speaking of ex-wives, one day about 20 years ago my ex suddenly decided she no longer liked guns. I was the plaintiff in our divorce.

I now have the great good fortune to be married to a woman who not only is beautiful and brilliant but also has her own CCW permit and can shoot as well as I can. Life is good!   8)

DITTO! My ex wife did not like guns and she kept the small fortune of vintage and antique jewelry we had amassed as dealers. (We were "weekend antiquers" in addition to our normal jobs).

It was only after my divorce that I resumed my enjoyment of firearms and I have no new wife or girlfriend to dissuade me from any purchase I decide to make.

I did, however, introduce some young ladies to the joy of shooting.

Forget the "oh oh". It was actually more like "a ha"

Thanks to all for the warm welcomes.
Question. We also saw two (consecutive) Elites at the dealers, my girlfriend expressed interest but the "Deerfield" text engraving looked really rough on both models. Is this a result of the sanding process and present on all Elites?
I ask because girlfriend offered to go in on one knowing
how rarely they're seen.
Thanks again.

Coalman:

Don't you mean Deer Park instead of Deerfield?

As to your question, I am not familiar enough with the Elite. However, consecutive serial numbers would clearly enhance future value providing the set is not split apart.
