I just sold a used R9 with only 100 rounds through it. R9 is not a gun that is abused but I would make conditional offer: Ask for a 5 day period in which to return the gun if it does not meet your approval or has any issues. This is commonly done and should work for you.

good luck.

Good advice!  I would ask how many rounds had been through it as it may need a new recoil spring.

Good luck!!   :)   :)

M380,

So what happened? Did you get the R9 and negotiate terms as suggested?

I actually turned down the sale..........here's why. the guy who is selling it, is someone I don't know, but he was asking $975, as is, no returns, all sales final, void where prohibited.

I asked for the serial number so I could check with Maria,a bout its build date, etc. Well, after talking with her, I found out, that the warrenty is NOT transferable to a second owner(strike one).

Next, his serial number indicated his pup was in need of new recoil springs, and mag springs, which I would have to pay for, since warrenty would not transfer to me (strike two).

...and finally, he would not budge on the price (strike three). I decided, it would be best if I just buy one new. For that kind of $$$$ I can't risk an expensive warrenty related issue.

Perhaps they should make the R45 in .45 GAP, same ballistics as .45 ACP, length of a 9mm round.

R45 is not happening anytime soon. There are many of us who love .45ACP but no present plans exist for big bore (to my knowledge).

.45 GAP is a failure. It was Glock's attempt to answer to the .357 Sig and .40 S&W. With present ammo crisis, perhaps the .45 GAP might re-emerge but I don't think so.

I spoke with the factory last week and as a joke I ordered a R45 along with several things I needed that they actually do sell.  I was told, after she figured out my bad joke, that it was not going to be a reality any time soon.  With production taking all the Rohrgbaugh's time they don't have time for the needed design/development to get us a R45.

Side note:  I would love for it to be  a 45 gap!

I have a Glock 39 (45 GAP) and like it alot.

One thing with the current ammo shortage is that, being it's not a popular round, it's still available.

Of course, once current inventory runs out it'll be impossible to find for a LONG time.  I can't imagine the factories will stop to produce more 45 GAP while they're currently going 24/7 trying to keep up with the mainstream stuff.  This past weekend I picked up another 4 boxes at the local gun show specifically because of this likelyhood.

I also managed to pick up 400 rounds of 9mm WWB.  The Silvertips are still proving elusive however.

You have made my point as to availability of .45 GAP ammo. Glock has reduced pricing and/or featured "specials" for their .45 GAP guns.

I confess, I have never tried the round as I am admittedly a .45ACP partisan. Glock's thinking was that they could do for the .45ACP what the .40S&W did for the 10MM.
