I have been reading about the Rohrbaugh firearms in my search to find a compact pistol for concealed carry (I don't have my carry license yet, but plan on getting it ASAP).  I took a trip to Hot Springs, AR this weekend and had seen on the Rohrbaugh website that there was a dealer there.  I decided to pay them a visit and got to look at the Rohrbaugh up close and personal.  I will say that it was one of the finest pocket pistols that I have had the chance to handle.  

I am still trying to decide if I am going to pick one up.  Not excited about the fact that it may be a little finicky when it comes to ammo choices, but I can deal with that.  I am off work on Wednesday and Thursday and plan on making a decision by then.

Until then, I will be reading plenty on this forum and taking in as much as possible.

Welcome to the forum, you wont be dissapointed if you get a pup, I got mine the end of Feb. and have about seventyfive rounds and four different brands and have had no issues. Great to carry and fun to shoot. I am looking to get a second now. Good luck.   John

Welcome to the Forum! You won't regret selecting the Rohrbaugh. I've been carrying mine for what will be five years in May -- all the time without issues. This is in my opinion simply the finest pocket pistol yet produced.

I too say grab it.  You'll never regret it.  I have not had any problems with ammo.  I've used WWB for "break-in" and Gold Dots carry practice.

If I were you my only concern would be if it will still be available on Thursday.   :)  They go fast!!!

Well, there is one less Rohrbaugh R9S available for buyers now.  Picked it up this morning.  The dealer had a large selection of the Special Forces and Robar and one unmolested, still in box, and what looked like a new shipment R9S model.  I quickly filled out the paperwork and was on my way in about 15 minutes with the new R9S in hand.  I am hoping that I can get to the range with it tomorrow.

Excellent decision!  Excellent choice! Congratulations on your new R9s!!  Let us know how the "Range Session" goes.

BTW where is your dealer located?  It sounds like he really has some buying "clout" with the factory.  ;)

Arego's Gun and Pawn in Hot Springs, AR.  He is much more a gun shop than a pawn shop.  I saw a sign that listed him as the number one seller of Wilson Combat firearms for 2008.  It is about an hour from where I live, but well worth the drive.  I typically buy as local as possible, but Arego's is a must see if you are in the area and enjoy guns/shooting.

Ahhh yeah, the name sounds familiar.  I believe they are an active seller on the internet.  When I was looking for my Stealth, before I found it locally, I recall seeing listings by Arego's on line for Rohrbaugh's, several models, and all in stock, and at fair prices.  It's good to hear a first hand report from an "in store" customer that they're good to deal with.

That's where I got mine, at Aregos, a 4 hour drive from Northern Arkansas for me. That dealer has lots of good stuff.

Took it to the range and fired 25 rounds.  Used WWB ammo and had a FTE on the last round.  I am going to blame it on limp wristing on the last one.  I will probably put another 75 rounds through it and see how she performs the rest of the way.  I shot four targets with 6-shots each, except for the last target where I put in 7 to make it an even 25 for the gun for the day.  All shots were fired from 10 feet.  

Shooting was a little erratic as I was getting used to the long trigger pull.  I noticed myself almost flinching a little bit midways through expecting the gun to fire.  I'm good enough to get the job done for the most part, but need to continue practicing.  

After the 25 rounds with the Rohrbaugh, I put in about 50 rounds with my H&K 45c.  It's funny that the .45 seems so tame after shooting the Rohrbaugh 9mm.

That's good shooting for the first time out with a DAO pistol which just happens to be the smallest and lightest 9mm handgun yet produced! Thanks for sharing the photographs of the targets. (I notice that one shot in the first target was dead center!)

The first range session with my R9 back in 2004 also produced a stray or two due to what might be called "anticipation of recoil." I soon found that I just needed to settle down and shoot the little pocket rocket with a smooth and steady trigger pull. It's been my constant companion ever since. I hope you have the same success with your own little masterpice of form and function.

I also got my R9s from Aregos.  Saw they had  one listed on Guns America.  Called them, as I am in North Carolina, and had it in two days.  Shipped 2nd day air.  Brand new.

Hey! Great shooting LRHogFan and welcome to the Forum.  Great decision on the Rohrbaugh.

Information from Richard, Tom, Corey, and more on the Forum sold me on getting mine.  Folks here are very knowledgeable.

I just placed an order for a Milt Sparks pocket holster for the gun and they said it would be 6 months.  I will probably also pick up a Hidden Holster as well.  

Question for you guys - I can still change my options on the holster with Milt Sparks.  Right now I have it as a black holster with no options.  I was given the option to add either shark for a $30 upgrade or elephant for a $60 upgrade.  Not sure if I should just leave it as is or add the upgrades???  

I was thinking tan at first, but think that black might be a little classier for a pistol like this - any opinions?
