Carry a lot/shoot a lot?
« on: February 27, 2009, 10:46:25 AM »
I am new to guns.  I am enjoying learning how to shoot accurately with the R9.  I have a glock  but to be honesst, I enjoy shooting the R9.  The recoil is not bad at all.  Question:  If I enjoy shooting this, say 100 - 200 rounds per month until I am familiar enough with it can I hurt the pistol?  IS this abusive? Will I damage it in any way?  will I void the warranty? As long as I keep it lubed and change the recoil springsevery 200 rounds, will it last almost indefintely or is there something I am missing?  Thanks for your thoughts.

chasdo4,

I'm another Rohrbaugh Rookie but it seems to me that you are not missing anything.   ;)

If you maintain the pistol well, keeping it clean and well lubed and change out the recoil spring as per factory recommendations you should be able to shoot it a lot and carry it a lot without negative consequences.

If I recall correctly The Irish Guard recently posted that he has a customer who has over 4000 rounds through his.

Just feed it ammo that it's happy with and ENJOY!
