Carter:
As one who, back in the 1960s, considered the Walther PPK to be the "gold standard" of pocket pistols...
Welcome to the club!
Well, the PPK actually
was the Gold Standard "back in the day".
I bought mine brand new in '74 way before CCW was legal, so carrying defensively was more "dangerous" back then.
If you got made by police, you'd immediately have a pistol put to your head, and you very easily went to jail.
So if you wanted to carry back then, deep concealment wasn't just a slogan, it was an absolute necessity.
(But I'm just talking a "what if" thing here. I mean, I never carried back then because as we know, it was against the law.
)
It's how thin the PPK is that makes it such a great carry piece, but of course, it's heavy, too.
So being able to upgrade to a 9mm that's smaller and lighter than my beloved PPK .380 is a no-brainer, and I don't think I'm going to miss the Walther.
By the way, what's that holster your R9S is sitting on?
