I might add that the so-called "back-pocket" holsters work well in the strong-side front pockets of Dockers, pleated slacks, and BDUs. "A rose by any other name . . . ."

I just got one of the DeSantis Superfly pocket hlosters. Comes with a square flap for back pocket  and can be removed for front pocket and it is some sticky stuff on the outside.
Take your time, in a hurry.

Richard
Thank you, I have been on for about a month. Got a pup for backup/offduty.  Best small gun I have ever had. I have been in Law Enforcement for 31 years and carried a lot of different guns over the years.

Fastsheriff:

First of all, permit me to thank you for your years of service in law enforcement.

Your opinion of the R9 mirrors my own. I have been carrying R9 No. 132 for the past four years. It has shown no vices in all that time. I personally consider the R9 to be the finest pocket pistol yet developed.

Again, welcome to the campfire.

Do you  have a link where I can see this holster?
I have carried a loaded pistol in my rear pants pocket for the last 10 years without a holster and one in the chamber.
But I'm willing to buy a holster if it will fit in rear jeans pocket.
It would have to be a pretty thin leather and no bottom covering the end of barrel.
This gun is working on snug as it is.
Also I don't want the top of gun visable.
Any links would be appreciated.

Until Fastsheriff checks back, here's one link to the DeSantis "Superfly":

http://www.desantisholster.com/m44.html

And here's a side-by-side shot of my R9 (with its "CF Blues") and my G380 (with its "Sterlings") both in "back-pocket" rigs by R. J. Hedley. The back panel of the G380 holster is mounted with Chicago screws and can be removed if wanted.

Hoserack;

The Superfly is thicker than a leather model and with the square panel is even thicker. I wear 511 pants most of the time and the pockets are big enough that it is not a problem.  With blue jeans it would be a thick fit in a back pocket. I am going to order a leather holster for when I wear blue jeans.  I do like the sticky finish on the holster and with the panel removed and in a front pocket it is not to bad when I wear blue jeans but the jeans are "relaxed fit".

According to the pdf Owner's Manual, "The 'safety' of the Rohrbaugh is the double action only design, which means that the trigger has to be pulled through a long, double action arc to fire the gun. Once loaded, this pistol is ready to fire without further actions to disengage a mechanical safety. Similarly, the pistol does not have a 'magazine safety'.  As with many other military and self defense pistols, the ability to fire the weapon even when changing a magazine was considered of greater importance."

The safety and trigger similarities to my Glock 21 (.45 ACP) appeal to me.  The Glock is my primary concealed weapon (fanny pack), but it's considerably larger/heavier than the compact R9S --- which now piques my interest.  The pocket slipper with laser sight - http://www.rohrbaughfirearms.com/store/pocketslipper.htm- really caught my eye.  Great concept: just pack it in your rear pants pocket, sans holster, where it imprints on your butt like a wallet.  I mostly wear jeans, so this appeals to me.

Does anyone regularly carry an R9S equipped with the pocket slipper with laser sight?  If so, is it reasonably comfortable and readily accessible?

Like other posts to this forum, I'd also like to range-test one before I buy.  Considering their limited availability, guess that won't happen.

I recall some one on another thread mentioning that one
reason for the holster other than the imprint was to cover
the trigger for safety purposes. I think they had a valid point.

The pocket slipper looks like it would be difficult to get fingers below trigger guard. I like it other than that.
Don't need the laser though.

Jack, Welcome to the forum and the pocket pistol concept. The R9 is great in a pocket holster, hides outline and covers trigger. However, I would foreget the laser deal. When you really need it Mr. Murphy will show up.  Tom
