favorite pocket holsters?
« on: June 18, 2007, 05:28:39 PM »
My R9 showed up at my FFL this morning, so I'd like to try and pick up a nice quality pocket holster for it this week.  Just wondering if there's any kind of consensus as to what some of the better ones might be?

I've had a Pale Horse/Ron Graham Back Pocket for about a month and I like it.

I've had a Hedley front pocket for my P-32 for years and years and would have bought another one of his if he was still taking orders. Heck, I bought it used come to think of it.

I noticed several mentions of Hedley pocket holsters, but I also noticed that they aren't taking orders.  Any idea when they might be available again?

I've got a Zulu-2 from Pale Horse Holsters.  I love the quality and flexibility.  I didn't know about the Desantis Nemesis; it looks like it'd be a better holster in certain situations (loose/large pockets, certain fabrics).  I think I'll pick one up.

If I have not previously welcomed you to the Forum I do so now.

R. J. is taking some well-earned R&R but has retained his web site domain for another year and indicated that he will be back. One thing of which I am certain -- a Hedley holster is a work of art and worth the wait:

I ordered a 'stingray' from Pale Horse in February and am still waiting on it...

I know they're backed-up, but...

I got lucky and got my order in 2 or 3 weeks since my Back Pocket and single mag carrier were listed as being in stock. I think they had to come up with a double mag carrier. I found them easy to work with - especially since I sent too much money for the 2 singles I ordered. I was offered a refund on the overpayment or an upgrade to a single and a double.   John

The Nemesis actually "prints" less but causes you to sweat more.  When it is hot, it becomes very noticable.  I also use a Hedley leather with my initials.

Hello Bill, I own a R9S as well as a  Seecamp LWS-32. I purchased a back pocket holster from Pocketholsters.com for the Seecamp it arrived within a few days. The quality is very good. They don't list a holster for the R9 on line yet, but I think they produce them.

I ordered a couple of the Back Pocket Holsters for my Seecamps, and Guardian Pistols. For $50.00 you can't beat it.
Well made, and decent Quality Leather too.
The don't have a posting for the Pup, but I know they make 'em. You gotta give 'em a call.

I recently purchased a Desantis Nemesis and a leather holster from one of the top known holster makers on these sites.   IMHO - I was and am still trying to decide which one I prefer.  The Desantis is about an ounce lighter, much softer and stays in the pocket when drawing the gun.  It certainly is not as pretty but is a fraction of the cost.
