pbwe,

If you go to Robar,  go to the FAQ section and there
it specifies to what metals NP3 can be applied.
It can be applied to aluminum and stainless steel.

Also go to kaneohegs.com, once there, go to
equipment test and evaluation, scroll down to
Robar coatings technologies NP3, they show a
Sig P226 with NP3 with detail explanations and
pictures. ;)

Like I mentioned before I have a few buddy's who have
done this to some of their guns.

I also happen to order an AR 15 upper and lower with
NP3 coating coming next week and those parts are
made from 7075 T6 aircraft aluminum. ;D

pbwe,

Clarification:

If you go to kaneohegs.com go to NEWS then go
to Equipment Test and Evaluation.

Thanks for the information.  My current interest would be to refinish a beater Makarov, which is conveniently all steel.  If I refinished a rohrbaugh, it would likely be the slide only, and see if the one side treatment would reduce galling of the aluminum frame material.

From Roguard: http://www.robarguns.com/q_and_a.htm
What metals can NP3 and Roguard be applied to?
NP3 and Roguard will adhere to aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. We cannot apply finishes to Titanium, Scandium or 'pot metal'. Previously plated surfaces like nickel, hard chrome or anodizing must be stripped prior to plating.

Hi,

Another outing with my R9s.
Shot it with those speer gold dots, 60 rounds.
No problems at all and all casings had the indentation
on it from the firing pin.
I'm going to stick with those gold dots, but man
over here in Orlando I can't get them. One place only
and I bought all four boxes, I only have one box left.
They are very expensive too.

Very happy I got the R9s. ;D

Tom & WS6

Thanks for the info on the ammo.
I'll try those winchester 115gr FMJ from wal mart.
I'm going to look for on line ammo also.
