Hello Sebis,....  R9S + longer grip + longer barrel= Kahr PM9. End of story- I own two. We value and cherish the R9S fot the compactness and weight, being some of the important qualities in this 9mm pistol. :)

You are right about the R9S, I wear it as I type in my pocket. I am not very fond of Kahr Arms and in top of that I wish for an external hammer. I may have to settle with a Kahr but I would get the MK9, much better reliability from what I've researched.

I do  think that for a business to survive on the long run it has to diversify the offering. Cannot continue with only one product for a very long time, doesn't matter how wonderful it is. Thus my suggestion ;).

Had a chat with Eric yesterday - I had to send my #1 frame to them because of a screw stuck issue - the early screw type which was softer.

The new batch of screws is in now and these are made out of same material now as slide - significantly harder.  These Eric said have allowed for going back to use of a weak loctite - forget number.  I think for myself I will continue to just check right hand screws every mag or two in practice and not worry about any loosening with carry if a magfull used ''in extremis"!

Not a huge lot to report but - they have backed off a smidgeon on slide to frame tolerances - IIRC about a three- quarter thou each side and - have now as some know backed off from the slide grease in favor of oil.  That extra freedom and miniscule extra space for lube to sit nicely should further improve running.

The new literature I believe mentions this lube recommendation and also mentions the shorter time between spring changes.  Eric is sending me an extra spring or two of different spec steel from Wolff which I hope to evaluate.

Actually, it would be closer to a Colt Pocket Nine because the Kahrs are striker fired and lack a repeat strike capability. The Pocket Nines have a flushed external hammer like the R9 and a repeat striker capability like the R9.

I love the Pocket Nines and a beef'ed up R9 would closely resemble one but SHOULD be even better due to several years of technology advancement.

Also, my understanding is that the Kahr is a bit thicker.  Their website lists the width across the slide, while most manufacturers, including Rohrbaugh, list the overall width.  I believe the steel Kahrs are more like 1.1" thick in the grips - almost as much as my Glock 26 - and that the polymer ones aren't much thinner.

I wonder which set of specs the gun that arrived at my local dealer today from Tom was made to?

Hard to know Bill - but the changes are small and I doubt really other than ''better'' on top of ''best''.

Second thought - if as I gather a ''Stealth'' for you - then like as not pretty recent and up to date.
