Bulletin about Rohrbaugh
« on: April 01, 2006, 10:17:15 AM »
Did you see the press release about Glock?  It appears  that Glock is discussing the acquisition of Rohrbaugh to increase their presence in the very small pistol market.

I don't have the full details yet.

I'm trying to contact my friend who actually works in Glock marketing at their facility in Smyrna, Georgia.

I should know something soon.

Bill:

I predict one thing is inevitable -- one or more of the current "majors" will attempt to make the "Brothers R" an offer which they hope cannot be refused.  The R9 is that good.   8)

Everyone:
I don't know if this string is an April Fool's gag or not but I would think acquisition by Glock of Rohrbaugh would be great. I continue to hold two truths regarding Rohrbaugh:
1. The pistol is an engineering marvel (although it desperately needs a magazine "spur", if that is the correct terminology, to assist against partially chambered rounds).
2. The other belief I hold (although I have not tested it in a long time), is that the Rohrbaugh factory is an unmitigated disaster when you attempt to deal with them.
I have tried to obtain a Rohrbaugh long sleeve t-shirt many times, derived assurances, and NEVER obtained one.
My FFL guy was recently contacted by the factory who asked for more money regarding downpayment for an R9S he ordered (for me) well over a year ago!
I got my R9 indirectly through a member of this forum over a year ago.
Is the R9S a great gun? Absolutely. Is it an engineering marvel? Absolutely. Does the factory know how to spell "customer service" (except to those customers/FFL dealers it likes?) ABSOLUTELY NOT
