Local shop has one and I think I'm smitten.
How have the R9s guns evolved over the past 2 yrs or so they have been out. I know they changed factories, what changes have been made to the gun since new.
any Titainum receivers in the works?

The color of the grips have changed, and I suppose minor internal adjustments have been made to the product.

I've never heard any warning about avoiding the earlier pistols from the factory.

You should expect excellent results with the R9S. I'm very pleased with mine. You are fortunate to see the R9S in person. I purchased mine solely based on critical reviews here, without ever holding one.

Don't forget to check out the FAQ section. Chris has done outstanding work.

konrad Welcome , No titanium that I know of . There have been a couple color schemes and some little tweaks here and there but basically the same gun. I bought mine in the form of a share of stock because Karl told me he was going to build it and I believed him. I have not been disapointed and neither will you be. Good Luck Dan

For what it's worth, I own R9s No. 132. I ordered it sight unseen based on an early sighting of the prototype. Mine has shown no vices. (What evolution?

Good to hear the positive comments. Reliability and accuracy are what makes interesting guns, I hear good things about the R9s accuracy.
I now carry a NAA Black Widow, but... well.. you know. I have had dissappointing results with Keltecs, a P-11, 32 and 3at. So considering the money I threw away on these, I could have the R9s.(forgive me for mentioning KT and R9s in the same thread) Seeing and handling the gun at the dealers put me over, reminded of a Sig 210. Like most new guns, I shoot them heavily for training and familiarization then throttle back a bit for the duration.

I love my R9S AND have had great luck with my Kel-Tecs also. I have found them to be reliable pistols.

And yeah - glad you dropped by RJ.

Konrad - tho it always sounds I may be blowing my own trumpet - which it ain't - do go and browse the FAQ site (link in my sig). I say that because many questions might be answered, there is some info re takedown and reassembly - and there are links to my early tests, albeit fairly basic.

The FAQ is there to try and assist folks - the reason I keep pointing it out to new or soon-to-be owners.

R9S may not want to blow his own horn about the FAQ, but about anyone else will vouch that it's a fantastic resource. I just got my (slightly used) R9 from a buddy, and the FAQ has been no end of help.

I have not had any problems with mine-and I plan on picking another Farmingdale beauty up tomorrow!!
