Reassembly is a breeze..

That little tool I devised did its magic one more time as I reassembled the pup after taking it down for cleaning and polishing the feed ramp.

Piece of cake!

Good job, Sky.

This writer will be using one of your creations soon.

I'm going to shoot the R9S with Magsafe ammo, a S&W shooting glove, and skateboard-type tape applied to both front and back of the handle.

Then it will be cleaned and carried for quite a while.

I don't know if I mentioned it, but Militec-1 makes the feed ramp pretty slippery, if you apply it and heat it using wife's hair dryer.

Chris,
If polishing the feed ramp helps with feeding then why doen't it come that way from the factory.  I'll assume the feed ramp is made from the same steel as the barrel.

What do you use as a fine past on your dremel.   I say once you memtioned too=thk paste.

I guess in theory Dave a polish should not really be needed but it is one of those things folks often do to semi's - tho never really sure if it makes a huge difference - I reckon the profile and angle really are the critical aspects - and probably very hard to design and get right.  Yes, part of barrel initial blank.

I usually use Simichrome on Dremel mop and light pressure - remove surplus after a short go at it and inspect - repeat as needed.  Toothpaste is even milder but does give a bit of very gentle abrasion.

Why polish feedramp - I guess answer is - ''because I can'' ;D  It can only help - but maybe marginally.
