Ok, I've tried the VZ Carbon grips side by side with OEM carbon fiber grips on the guns.

The rusults in my opinion -

VZ wins hands down.

There is just a little bit of a palm swell there that really adds to the comfort without bulk.

And they look awesome too.

I still like those Blue CFs.  And Reinz, I know you've seen the light, and that's a good thing.  The VZs are good looking grips, no doubt.    :)

Ken you are right. The OEM blue carbon fiber do have a mystique about them.

The VZ carbon fiber grips just plain feel better.

It all depends what you want to do with them. I don't know if I would Daily carry the BCF grips.

I do like the Blue - Blue grips, not the sorta blue ones.  And if I did happen to come across a pair at reasonable noncollector prices, I would buy them.
I'm just not willin to to pay current market prices for looks, I'm more into function - not that they do not function, but when you pay that much, you don't necessarily want to carry them every day and scratch them up.

I carry mine in a Meco back pocket holster, but in the front pocket.  I have carried it one time in the Meco Sharkskin, however, only to lunch and back; not really worried about scratching the Blues as I am about holster wear on the finish.

I'm going to try that Renaissance Wax/Polish that Richard suggested.

I have been using the wax for a few weeks now and have been pleased with it but have no real hard data to offer, if Richard says it's great stuff and has used it for several years, thats good enough for me. ;D

Thank you for the vote of confidence in my recommendation, gentlemen. I'm confident that you will be as pleased with the protection Renaissance Wax provides for the finishes of your firearms as I have been. Let me just put it this way -- it's so good that when my wife, having seen me using it on my guns, decided to try it on some of her antiques, she pronounced it "amazing." She then flashed those baby blues of hers at me and said, "Honey, can I have this?"

"Of course, Darling," I replied . . . heading to the computer to order another can of the stuff.

That sounds like a good idea.

Does the wax help add to the gip?

Making it more tacky as well ?

Don't think so.  I've not tried it yet; it's on the way.  I think it's just a protective coating on whatever you apply it to.  I'll know in a couple of days.
