Deja Vu
« on: March 06, 2009, 12:01:01 PM »
Not Again!!  I was caught in the Paypal " Palehorse" sceme.
Which gives me reason to be anxious about my order to IDM.
Ordered RJ tool on Feb 22, Paypal charged my account. They sent me letter saying payment was accepted. Sent several emails to IDM  No answer.... My account with IDM says "pending" alongside my order.

I ask, is that pending funds, or pending because it is on back order. (when odered it was in stock).

Is IDM still in buisness or is owner sick? Anyone know?

My RJ tool order was "pending" for about 2 weeks. Then the envelope magically appeared in the mail...and the order was still pending on the site. So, in my case, it didn't mean much and was just a cause for some anxiety.

I thing I can say about IDM is that they should really work on their communication a bit. It doesn't inspire me to want to order anything much more expensive knowing that I may or may not hear from them and my order might or might not be taken care of.

No argument from me...

Maineiac,

I just heard from Bryce at IDM; he says he has a few RJ tools
but no mag extensions. That was about all he said except that
he is still "working."

I mailed a USPS Money Order to Bryce 12 days ago. The aluminum version of the tool came to my Arkansas mail box today. That's pretty good service in my book. Hope your order arrives soon.

Robert

I'm at 18 days and counting. My problem could have been going thru Paypal. Still no answer from emails. I'll wait a bit longer see what happens.

I might have to make one out of wood........ ;D

Maineiac, you might be on to something. For the wedge feature that holds the slide open to access the take-down pin, I prefer the old toothbrush handle that I whittled down. You can wiggle the plastic wedge to align the pin without fear of damaging the extracter. Wooden tool of your design might be perfect. I think I'd use Ash. ;D

Robert, I've got  Pine, cedar, and oak. No ash but my neighbor has a couple of ash trees. I'll go over and lob off a couple of branches.  ;D  ;D

Don't laugh but, I use two tongue depressors and a piece of 1/4 plastic to put my recoil spring back into my Kel Tec

I PM'd IDM on this forum a couple nights ago asking about black aluminum grips and he responded the following day (out of black).  You might try that route.
