Update: I presented the rig to Joyce last night. Her eyes widened, she took a deep breath, and then said something rather personal. Next, she read through the owner's manual and studied TJ's list of upgrades. Then she removed the pistol from Eric's elephant-hide holster, racked the slide to lock, insuring that the pistol was unloaded, dropped the empty magazine, released the slide, looked around the room for a "target," selected one of my trophies on the wall, sighted the pistol, and dry fired it. When that silken trigger broke crisply at 7-1/2 pounds, a big smile crossed her face and she again said something rather personal.
"Happy wife, happy life."
I've now loaded three magazines with Winchester Supreme Elite PDX1 +P 124-grain JHPs and it's off to the range this weekend.
And thus endeth the story, with my thanks to all who provided advice and assistance. (Now, if I can just figure out a suitable follow up for Christmas . . . .)
