"Tracker" is absolutely right about Colonel Hays. By way of further example, the following is an excerpt from page 2 of the book, Lone Star Lawmen -- The Second Century of the Texas Rangers, by Robert M. Utley:[size=10]The model for all subsequent [Ranger] captains, John Coffee Hays pioneered mounted combat by adopting the first revolving pistol, the five-shot Paterson Colt.
