Well, I just got finished typing up a full report of the weekend's events and went to preview it and was told it was too long. Then it erased all I had written. So, here is a synopsis, since I don't have the will to re-write the whole thing and split it. The glock summit was held by OPS in Titusville, Fl and was a panel of different instructors from around the country. The structure was the same as the Snubby Summit from last year which Duane reported on. You can find his report three or four pages back in this section of the forum. Some of the instructors were, John Farnum, Bill Davison, and James Yeager. You had a choice of courses and couldn't possibly hit everything in the two days we had. The courses I took included; The combat drawstroke with Paul Gomez, DTI Dance - John Farnum, Force-on-force training with Don Redl, After the Shooting - Skip Gochensomething (I can't remember his last name), Speed shooting-Andy Stanford, and Malfunctions with Bill Davison.
I was quite impressed and would like to take a full class with both Farnum and Davison. Two guys I think would be worth learning from. The force-on-force was quite the eye opener and made me realize my skills are severely lacking. The Lecture provided by Skip was excellent and made you realize that carrying a firearm you have two potential battles. One of the physical type and one of the legal type. You may not come out of either one intact. Be aware of that, accept it, and do what you can to prepar for it.
All in all an excellent weekend with some good people. Next year will be an urban rifle summit.
