I finally got my Pup! (New pictures added)
« on: April 02, 2006, 04:44:17 PM »
Well, I finally received my Pup last Wednesday.  Thanks go out to Irishguard for working with me while I was deployed. He kept me informed and let me reserve a gun 7 months before I got it. If any of you are looking to pick up a R9 or R9s, I definately give him a "2 thumbs up rating"!

Let me just say that the R9s feels great. You can tell the quality of the workmanship as soon as you hold it. I was actually suprised by how small it was. I guess I expected it to be a little bigger. I can already tell I'm gonna have to get some grip tape, because as small as it is, it's gonna have to kick.

I haven't gotten to shoot it yet, mainly because I don't have half of the maintenance tools yet (and I'm not gonna shoot it until I can take care of it afterwards).

I though I would post a few photos that I took of it for now. I'll post letting you guys know the first time I shoot the beaut. Hope you guys enjoy.

Great photographs!  Thanks for posting them.

Does this mean that you're back from the "Sandbox"?  If so, I'm glad you made it.  If not, keep watching your "six."  (Come to think of it, keep watching your "six" in either event.   8))

And thank you for your service to our country!

Nice gun - you may have gotten one of the last carbon fiber grips  - if what I hear is correct before they change over to G-10.

yes,

I am back in the US at "lovely" Cannon AFB in New Mexico. I have to say that while I'm very happy to be back on American soil, I also miss being in the desert also. While I was deployed, I worked with some excellent people and I actually miss their company. Overall, I don't think I'd want to go again (just because I was separated from my wife for over 7 months), but I can say it was a valuable experience that I will fondly remember.

Speaking of my wife, I thought I might post a few pictures of the reasons I'm happy to be back in the states. She's definately at the top of that list. The last picture is the snow that fell soon after my return in mid-March. I can definately say that I was happy to see some snow. Helped make up for the winter I missed in the desert.

David

You have a lovely beautiful wife (and a handsome dog).  I'm sure they both missed you as much as you did them.  Welcome back and join into the forum discussions often.
