Tom

I finally figured out why you are having trouble with your new service dog, Isley, following your commands.

For those who don't know Tom (theirishguard) has shared with us that he received a service dog recently to help him with his daily life because of his handicapp.

Tom - I think it is because Isley is a yankee dog and can't understand that southern Texas drawl of yours.

You said Isley was to help you get up if you take a tumble.

Well I have a picture of what happened when you said, "Isley. I would like you and I to practice on my falls".

But what Isley heard was ....

Now Tom - aren't you glad I figured this out.  :) :)

Tom - on a more serious note I saw on the news that there were hundreds of ice skidding accidents today in and around Dallas - hope you stayed in.

Dave, thanks for your concern and the laughs. I thought it was funny but Isley didn't.

I would hope that Isley is better looking Tom.

Tom - when you are ready I'll be happy to "try" and talk you through posting photos over the phone.

But until then .........

Tom I still think you need to be more careful when giving your service dog Isley command directions.

Below is a picture that was taken after Isley heard you saying,

"Isley help me to get some food - I am so hungry I could eat a horse".

I found out where the rainbow ends, in this case - Durango, Co. Both of these were taken during our annual trip west - this one in 2004!

Man I love the mountains - someday I'll live on one myself!!!

I am on my way tomorrow to Rapid City, South Dakota.  I will get some pics of Mount Rushmore, weather permitting...   :o  I don't think I have clothes for that kind of weather...

Duane:

Have a safe trip, and please post some photographs.

Dave:

Is that dog still alive?  The horse appears to be gaining ground.

Duane,

There is another landmark out there, called Devil's Tower National Monument.  It is a great place to see, and not too far from the Interstate.

http://volcano.und.nodak.edu/vwdocs/Parks/devils_tower/devils_tower.html

It was seen in the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind".

Unfortunately, after checking it out, it's another two hour ride.

FireBreather01,

Those pictures are remarkable.  Fine job!

Darn,

You got me going there for a second -- I LOVE that movie.  A classic.  Unfortunately, it is a business trip and a whirlwind tour.  I booked a flight a few hours earlier than I needed on Tuesday so I could fit in a run to Mount Rushmore before dark.  Wednesday in a morning meeting, then flying home.

I have been fortunate to see a lot of this country on quick side trips relating to business travel.  I always like to rent a Hertz car with the GPS "Neverlost" system -- that way I can wander around in my free time and have no serious fears of getting lost!

And as for my sleeping bag --- its called a Radisson.   ;D

Dave, when Isley sees that dog with the tennis balls, he just growls. He thinks he has one of his tennis balls.
