Great photograph, Dave!  Reminds me of an old joke:

Three hikers on a mountain path suddenly come face to face with an enormous grizzly bear, which rises up on its haunches and roars at them.

First Hiker:  "What should we do?"

Second Hiker:  "I think all three of us should run as fast as we can back down this path."
 
Third Hiker:  "That's crazy!  Don't you know that a man can't outrun a full-grown grizzly bear?"

Second Hiker:  "I know, I know, but I'm betting that I can outrun at least one of the two of you."

It gave me a laugh as well, as much as it hurt (Republican that I am).

My little wife made a comment on the subject to which I had no ready response.  She said, "Daddy always taught me not to shoot a bird until it was well in the air, so as not to pepper a good friend or ruin a good hunting dog."

If any of you up there in the great white north are feeling the winter blues I suggest you go back to the very first picture that started this thread (A magical morning).  Those are truly magical.  

On another note I noticed a comment by Mountain Man that I had overlooked.

Carrying a gun while golfing may not be such a bad idea -- the course my brother plays during the summer has balck bears on it pretty regularly -- he takes his glock in 45 ACP w. ball ammo - not too sure what that would do -- maybe I could get him to carry my 357 mag.
