Another national treasure...
These were taken on Tuesday in the late afternoon. The lighting is a little dark because the sun had already dipped behind the mountains. Temperature was 25 degrees and about 20 mph wind. (Thus, no other people in the pictures!
)
This, on the other hand, was taken Wednesday in the early afternoon. Boy, the sun is bright in South Dakota! For those that don't recognize it, this is the Crazy Horse memorial near Hill City, S.D.
For those unfamiliar with the story, below is a shot of the 1/34th scale model of what this memorial will (or may?) ultimately look like. They have been working for 60 years so far...
