New CCM Article -- Porting a Defensive Gun
« on: December 05, 2005, 11:00:04 AM »
The issue hitting mailboxes right now contains my new article:  Your Defensive Handgun: To Port or Not to Port.  I take a look at the subjective advantages of porting, and contrast them with the down-sides.  There are some muzzle velocity comparisions as well.

I thought you all might enjoy this.  I would also encourage anyone who hasn't yet to consider subscribing to Concealed Carry Magazine (www.concealedcarrymag.com).

Please realize that this article is posted here with the express written permission of CCM.  You may distribute this link, but the actual PDF may not be re-posted anywhere else.

Next month I have a new semi-regular column (3-4 times per year) called "Real World Carry Gear" to address the kind of things, both new and old, that people really use and that work.  This is NOT your typical column dedicated to publishing press releases and press photos for every new product that hits the market.

Thanks.

Duane:

I received my copy of Concealed Carry Magazine over the weekend and read your article yeaterday.  It is a comprehensive treatment of an interesting question.  Congratulations.

For those of you who have not yet become members of USCCA and subscribed to the magazine, I urge you to do so.

Enjoyed the article Duane thanks, nicely done - in fact the day the mag arrived - I stopped everything and spent a pleasant hour and  half or so reading right thru. :)
