Kahr makes good pistols. But I won't buy one because the owner, Justin Moon, is the son of the founder of the Unification (Moonie) church. Same line of thinking as why I won't buy Chevron gasoline - I refuse to put a penny in Hugo Chavez's pocket.
That aside, I own a Ruger LC9 and occasionally carry it instead of my R9s. The safety I just leave off. The magazine interlock I live with. The loaded chamber pop-up thingie has saved me from a negligent discharge. That would have been, at the least, embarrassing!
For a dedicated truck gun, why not buy a Taurus Judge or the new 6-round S&W Governor? I own the granddaddy of those two guns - a Thunder Five. It's my bedroom gun. When I complained about the 5 round capacity, my nephew said, "If 5 rounds of .410 OOO buck doesn't stop what's after you, throw the damn gun at it and run for your life - it ain't human!"
