Very nice. I think Taurus may see a drop in sales. I have always like S&W revolvers.

I see they priced themselves right in the Judge's Price Range. It is easy to see who their target is. I wonder how it would be to fire a lightweight .410 pistol..... I like the fact that it also has .45 ACP capabilities. This may be a candidate for being my new "Truck Gun".

I think it would be better if they made a chopped down, 5 shot, 45 LC, but...  (Missing my 6 shot, snub-nose 44...  And, will be for awhile - once it comes back from S&W - 4 months now - it goes off to Randy Lee...)

Since I have the Taurus Judge that fires the 3" .410 and the 3" barrel Ill stick with it.  It has done everything it's supposed to do so I'm a happy camper with it.  I do like the S & W Governor and like it's ability to shoot the .45 ACP.  That's a plus.

SHOT some .410 from the Governor and it was not particularly harsh at all.  Shoots very nice.

Duane, Do you think a small woman could handle it?

That is one sweet little cannon. It'd be a great addition to the arsenal.

Hard to say Chief.  Many women I know would handle it just fine.

I don't find it to be too hard to shoot, but I am not particularly recoil sensitive either.  The large L-frame grip really helps keep a handle on it.

I am sure there are some women, and some men who would disagree.

That is true. My wife has a little S&W 642 she carries every so often, she does not mind the recoil, but both of my brothers shy away from firing that gun at the range, complaining of recoil.
She would like to have a judge but I tend to think S&W would be better quality, plus I like the 45 ACP idea as I have alot of them around the house (Not too many "Long Colts" though)

The Taurus Public Defender may be a better carry gun because it is smaller.

The Governor has a 6-shot, N-frame size cylinder.  It would be a better home or car gun, I think.

Like anything else, the Governor is S&W's first attempt at the .410/45, I am sure in time there will be a few newer smaller models to choose from.
I too prefer the S&W quality over the Taurus.
These shotgun pistols will have to get a lot smaller before I start to carry one on my person daily, and that may never happen.
I love the concept, but right now the size deters me from owning one. ( that is the S&W I am talking about) When and if S&W does make the Governor in a smaller model, like the "LT Governor" I'll consider one then.

We were never thinking of carrying one. We were thinking more along the lines of a car or house gun. In the very near future I am going to declare myself retired (again) and our plans are to travel for a year or two around the country in either a 5th wheel or Motorhome. I was thinking a gun like this would be a good companion.
