It doesn't seem that they would be jumping off the shelves. I wonder about the market research that went into that one. Maybe they have sold too many Judges and are a bit overconfident.

They knew that Corey needed a back-up to carry if his R9 isn't enough.

sorry, Corey...I couldn't resist.

That 28 GA. shell has been hanging around since the early part of the 20th century. Small-bore skeet is about the only thing which has kept it in production. Although some people use the 28 GA. for upland game hunting, I personally would not want to do so. Without intending to offend anyone, I consider anything under 20 GA. to be potentially a "cripple gun" in the field. Perhaps this "Raging Judge" thing will add a little more longevity to the load.

I guess marketing is at the bottom of the barrel and is aiming at the hardcore competition crowd now.

You have to look at the big picture.  Taurus is riding a wave, and wants to keep it going.  Will the 28 ga. do it?  I dunno.   Time will tell.    :)

Well S&W wants to cash in on the wave too.

Smith & Wesson's new six-shot Governor revolver fires 45 Colt, 45 ACP, and 410 shotshell ammunition. 28 oz. with a Scandium frame.

The 28 Gauge has monster charge holes... What caliber would that convert to?

Also, Taurus has a way of making a lot of prototypes that never actually make production.  We will see.

The .28 guage would convert to a .55 caliber.
