Walther's PPQ is a full-size duty pistol offered in 9mm and .40 S&W.
Walther America brought a new full-size duty pistol to SHOT Show 2011 that was unveiled Monday at an invitation-only event at a local firearms dealer.
The PPQ arrives in 9mm and .40 S&W calibers with 7.1-inch and 7.2-inch barrels respectively. Representatives from Smith & Wesson (Walther's parent corporation) touted the pistol's "quick defense trigger," which provides an audible click reset, 5.5-pound pull, and 0.1-inch reset.
The pistol is based on the same sidearm carried by German police, Wulf Pflaumer, Walther's president, told The Oklahoman.
The grip features cross-directional texturing and interchangeable backstraps for small, medium and large hands. An ambidextrous magazine release is integrated into the trigger guard, and the slide includes front and rear serrations.
